The Monrovia Association of Fine Arts (MAFA) will present Kathie Reece McNeil with its prestigious 2008 Renaissance Award at its Opening Night Celebration, October 11th at the Monrovia Community Center.

(Monrovia) – Assemblyman Dennis Mountjoy (R-59th District) named Kathie Reece McNeill as the “2006 Woman of the Year.”

A Southern California native, Kathie resides in Monrovia with her husband retired Marine Corp Master Sergeant Rod Mc Neill. Kathie is the proud Mom of four children and two step-children, Chris, Nicole, Jeremy, Monique, RJ and Jake.

A businesswoman, Kathie Reece McNeill owns and operates the Historic Aztec Hotel in Monrovia. After purchasing the venue in 2000, Kathie has embarked on restoring the Hotel, while continuing to operate the Hotel’s well known Brass Elephant Lounge which features live entertainment and a restaurant.

Kathie has been honored by the Foothill Unity Center, receiving the Center’s distinguished “Golden Plate Award” for her continuing efforts on behalf of those in need. • Nice post. We could spend hours together a list of things for the community. Short of it is that I have yet to find a limit with the generousity and kindness she has.

Kathie must be a conservative Republican.

If the Monrovia city council brains weren’t stucked in neutral, they would hire Kathie as City Manager. Any one who could clean up the Aztec sure could handle the job of cleaning up Monrovia.

The few chances that I have met Kathie she has always been very polite and nice. Very approachable and surprisingly not bitter at the Council. For all that the city has tried to do to her and totally ignore the gang have on Myrtle, she has a great attitude and deserves what she gets. Good job, Kathie
